# Edge-Case Investigation and Input Normalization

During certification-related validation, an unusual input scenario was identified involving long-form text containing literal HTML `<br>` elements instead of standard line breaks.

The behavior was systematically investigated.

The same content was tested using:

* normal line breaks;
* literal `<br>` elements;
* HTML documents;
* rendered HTML;
* Markdown;
* bullet lists;
* long text;
* clipboard automation.

The issue was isolated to the representation of line breaks as repeated literal `<br>` elements within the input.

SlangBit's local translation server was subsequently updated to normalize these elements before translation.

This investigation resulted in additional input-hardening and improved translation engine resilience.

SlangBit has been tested with content significantly beyond simple sentences and short paragraphs.

The objective of these tests was not only to verify translation quality, but also to validate application stability, clipboard handling, server behavior and input processing.

# Startup and Local Server Resilience

SlangBit automatically manages its local translation server.

Validation included scenarios where **ALT+Z** was triggered while the local server was still initializing.

In these scenarios, SlangBit:

1. detected that the server was not yet ready;
2. waited for server availability;
3. retried the operation;
4. completed the translation when the engine became available.

This prevents normal startup timing from interrupting the translation workflow.

SlangBit uses a dynamic model discovery system.

Each installed language model contains metadata describing:

* tokenizer configuration.

The local server discovers available models dynamically instead of relying entirely on hardcoded language configurations.
